Life is Sweet!!!

Happy Thursday everyone and happy last day of school (at least for my kids)!!!  I am doing a happy dance.  I'm so ready for some down time.  I thought it would be appropriate to share with you Autumn's school picture from her last year of Mother's Day Out.  She will be off to Kindergarten in the fall.

I used Basic Grey's Sweet Threads collection to create this page.  It is marked way down in the store right now, so don't miss out on these beautiful papers.

To Err Is Human!

Hello and happy Wednesday!
Last week I was working on this layout for yesterdays challenge on the board and I took the cover off of my bottle of Glimmer Mist and guess what?! I spilled it on my picture! At first I was devastated, but as it dried, I liked the look of it and decided to use it any way.

                                          and a close-up:

So next time you make an error, look and see if it is still workable!

Vacation Mojo!

I love being on vacation! I don't think I will ever be a homebody because there is just something about getting out of town that helps me completely relax! We are in Missouri for a week and since we stay in a condo - I brought some scrappy things with me! I think having lots of down time along with the removal of the stresses from home and work really sparks my creativity! I finally got some pics printed from my birthday (last Sept!) where my mom, sister and my niece joined me at the Arboretum. So of course I had to spend some time this weekend scrapping the cutest little girl on the planet! And the BoBunny Forever Fall collection was just perfect!

Album in a tin

Good Morning!  Wendy here!  I hope everyone is enjoying this wonderful weekend!  I sure hope the rain holds off a bit longer.  We are having a Memorial Day dedication at the Village Hall and I hope it works out well.

I have been wanting to work on this project for so long and I finally got myself together and finished it up.  This is a mini album...in a tin.

I have so many wallet sized pictures of my kids and I saw this idea a million years ago and thought it was the coolest thing ever!

I still have lots of papers leftover from Tammi from the My Mind's Eye - Lime Twist collection.  What better way to use up those smaller pieces!

I covered the top of the tin with some of the patterned papers.  Then I used my Stickles to death on a chipboard alpha and some flowers.

I cut some plain white papers down to a size that would fit inside the can and folded them all accordion style.
Next, I cut some scraps of the patterned papers to place on each page.
The tin isn't that deep, so I used a few simple flowers on each page for embellishments.
I adhered the first page to the top of the tin, and the last page to the bottom of the tin.

Now, when you open the tin, the album unfolds to reveal 16 pictures of my daughter growing up!

And easily folds back up into the tin and can be tossed in Grandma's purse to show off her granddaughter to her Bingo friends.  :)

Off to make one for my little guy, using Bo Bunny On the Go papers.  Too cute!!!

Don't forget the BIG sale in the My Scraps and More store!
Time is running out!!

Memorial Day Sale!!  Use promo code MEM2012 and save 40% off your order AND receive free shipping on all US orders of $25.00 or more now through May 28th!!

Have a great weekend!

A Few More ...

I wanted to show you a few more projects I did using the My Mind's Eye Lime Twist papers that Tammi sent us. My daughter Amory is all about butterflies and the colors pink and purple. Although she says her favorite color is sparkle (girl after my own heart!). So I knew that I needed to make something for her room with the My Mind's Eye Lime Twist paper.
I fund these candle holder/wall sconces and one of my favorite thrift stores and I bought them on Wednesday so they half off! I also bought two drawer pulls from Hobby Lobby. How are these things going to make a coat hook might you ask?

Like this! I removed the mirror and mod podged paper onto them and put it back in. I removed all of the hardware from the drawer pulls and glued (E6000 adhesive) the drawer pulls into the candleholder. A little bling on the butterflies and flowers and we are done!
I did make two but they are exactly the same and I didn't want to bore you!

Next up I made a summer fun basket for Amory. On the first full day of summer after they get out of school I leave them a little treat - I will show you Priscilla's next week! Target clearance to the rescue! Everything - basket and all this project cost $2.00! The basket was a leftover from Easter at 90% off and all the craft supplies were in the dollar section at 70% off!
I took this basket and

created this! I replaced the broken handle with 26 guage wire wrapped in ribbon. And then I covered the sad and half wiped away lamb with My Mind's Eye Lime Twist paper, diecut, and a sticker.
I think Amory will love it!

Are you ready for summer?

I am.  I'm counting down the days until the kids get out of school and we can enjoy some relaxing days at the lake and pool (5 more days).  That has put me in the mood for scrapping some bright fun summertime photos.  I created this one of my daughter with her grandma last year at the pool using Bo Bunny's Alora collection.

Don't forget about the fabulous Memorial day sale going on and stay tuned because we are getting close to the start of the second annual My Scraps Got Talent contest.  Hope you will join us!!

For the record...

Good Tuesday morning! May is always the busiest month of the year in my house and quite often our family’s busyness tends to hamper my scrappy mojo! So to combat it I went out and took some pics of DS and a friend and then spent time editing them and just enjoying the pictures. I find that starting with beautiful photos is the best remedy for the scrappy blues. I am by no means a professional but I did invest in a nice camera and I have learned to take lots of pictures so I have plenty to choose from. I have also found that if I take the time to do a few edits it makes a huge difference! There are many free versions of photo editing software that can quickly improve the look of your photos. So to get back on track I created this – I used an old record as my background and one of my favorite pics of DS and my adorable niece. With a little color adjustment and softening it really took the photo to another level. I just love the bright fun colors in the Basic Grey Lauderdale line and they set the picture off beautifully! If you haven’t gotten this line yet go check it out it is so fun!

Super Sunday!

Happy Sunday!
Lisa here with you today to share a few more layouts with one of my favorite companies, My Minds Eye. Tammi has had their newest line, Indie Chic, in the store for a little while now. I wasn't sure about this line but I have been playing with it and absolutely love it, especially the banners!

My first layout was done for a challenge group I am in, Inspiration Elevator. This layout is what makes it a me layout! Banners, stitching and border punching:

My second layout is what I created last weekend during our one hour sketch challenge, if you didn't play along last week, I am sure there will be more scheduled:)

Thanks for stopping by today and hope you have a wonderful Sunday!

Grid Love

Tammi could not have been more generous with the Design Team this month.  We each received a ton of My Mind's Eye Lime Twist papers.  I will tell you, I loved this line from the moment I set eyes on it!  It may not be a brand new release but my love for it hasn't wavered.  It is awesome....I am drawn to the soft color palette combinations of the girly papers.  I am not a purple fan in general and this line does have a few purples, but pair purple with lime and I am in love.  Such a fun combo!!

you can't tell here but that is an old photo of my grandma & grandpa -- i think this is the only photo I have of them with huge happy grins instead of the posed smile!  I adore this photo!!

Can you tell I am loving the grid design .... and cutting with my Cameo?   I used my Cameo on every single creation this month!!

I am not usually a card maker but how could I not make them with this awesome hello bubble paper?  Add in a little Echo Park birdie (cut with Cameo)....just too cute!!

I am off to create some more of these cards...they just make me smile!

I Spy with My Mind's Eye

Good Morning! Yesterday was my last day of school - I teach a class of two year olds (who have all turned three now) - and I am a bit sad. But I plan to spend the next two weeks until my girls are out of school scrapping, cleaning and organizing closets (thank you Pinterest for the inspiration!), and running from talent shows to reward shows to water days and back again!
I have been doing a bit of scrapping with the My Mind's Eye papers Tammi sent us. They were perfect for the pictures from Amory's birthday party as well as a quick card!

Next Friday I will share with you some altered projects that I did using the Mind's Eye papers. They were perfect for a certain little girl's room who loves butterflies, purple and pink, and sparkle!

Thank you for stopping by!

New Echo Park...

Paradise Beach and Sweet Day collections have arrived along with two new mini theme kits Toy Box and Enjoy the Ride. Once you view these collections in the store, I know they will jump to the top of your most wanted list!!

Have a great day!

Tracy's Reveal

It has been so amazing to see all the different takes this week using the My Minds Eye Lime Twist collection.  This collection is so large that there is a little for everyone.  I got to work primarily with the boyish lines but wanted to show you that with the right embellishments they can go any direction.  Both of these layouts have some of the exact same papers in them but gave me very different looks.

Next I decided to work with a die cut.  MME makes so many gorgeous large die cuts and I usually use them for my background.  This time I decided to try something different.
I used only this one sheet of paper and created this card.

If you haven't snatched up this collection yet, this is a great time as the collection is 50% off right now!

May Design Team Reveal

Hello and happy Wednesday!
Lisa here today to reveal my design team projects for May. This month Tammi sent us one of my favorite manufacturers, My Minds Eye. The line is called Lime Twist. These papers and embellishments are so fun and perfect for any kind of pages and cards! Tammi even has this line on sale!
Here are my layouts:

Here is a close-up of a new handmade flower I tried. I also used some scraps of paper I had trimmed off the journaling card, after I cut the scallops for the journaling card these cut away pieces curled and I had an AHAHa moment and decided to use them by my flower. Love the look and I recycled at the same time! You can find the tutorial HERE.

And I also made a card for my Mom, her birthday is in August:

We have the Mother May I Crop going on right now on the message board and you still have time to play. Would love to see your work in the gallery!
Thanks for stopping by and sharing your day with us!

Ginni's Reveal

It's time to take a look at what Ginni did with the MME Lime Twist.  She did a great job creating some very boyish LO's.

This adorable LO is actually a 2 pager using a sketch from Close to My Heart sketches.
