Summer is HERE!

This past few days has been super hot and it's really starting to feel like summer!  We've started whipping out all the fun summer toys, like the kiddie pool!  Sometimes I think kiddos have just as much fun in these little pools as they do in large pools!

I used today's sketch on the My Scraps & More Sketch Blog that I designed and some papers and embellies from Crate Paper "The Pier" and some scraps from a few other Crate Paper lines.

I did an ombre effect with some blue papers from different collections on the bottom of the page.

The chipboard elements from The Pier collection are just awesome for summer pages!

Check out the sketch blog to see other takes on the sketch!  Enjoy your weekend!

Easter Breakfast

Have you been playing along with the sketches on the sketch blog.  Without sketches I'm not sure I could create a LO.  I really need that jumping off point.  They don't always end up looking like the sketch but at least it gets me started.  I used last weeks sketch from the sketch blog created by Audrey.

I used Echo Parks Sweet Girl Collection for this page about my talented pancake making :)  You still have until June 6th to complete any of the May sketches.

Happy Wednesday!

Lisa here today to share a few layouts I made using the Pink Paislee Portfolio Collection.

For my first layout I created a banner out of tags and added rub-ons and twine:

For my second layout, I played with light modeling paste, added brown paint, mixed it up and applied that over a mask to get my "muddy" background:

I used a Let's Get Sketchy sketch for this layout and I cut stars out of a My Minds Eye Collectable patterned paper, dry embossed them and popped them up with foam tape. I also used a few other My Minds Eye Collectable patterned papers for my banner. I added a little washi tape and it was done!

Thanks for stopping by and sharing your day with us!

Sydney's Style

Hello and good morning..

I'm not sure about you, but my daughter is at the age when she is enjoying clashing her clothing styles to make a statement. In fact, she never wears matching socks, they always have to mismatch. We were out and about and she kinda just threw everything on, and this photo defiantly sums up her style sometimes.

I used Fancy Pant's Trendsetter collection, which seems to work for any kind of themed page. I LOVE how versatile the line is!!!!
I used the Price Tag sheet and cut it up, and then just added tags through out the layout:
The sticker embelliesh are lots of fun from the line:
I added twine to the tags for a bit of texture....
I think this may be an ALL time FAVE from Fancy Pants!!!! make sure to check out the store for the Trendsetter collection HERE....

Have a great day

She's paying the bills now?

Good morning, friends!  Missy here with another page to share.  I used the gorgeous Sweet Girl collection from Echo Park...LOVE it so much!  My daughter snuck off one day into her Daddy's office, and I found her with a stack of bills, the calculator and his checkbook...haha!  She looked very studious...so I told her if she wanted to pay the bills from now on, then that would be great :D

I was in a circle mood, so I cut four big ones out and then outlined parts of them with a black pen.  I love the difference that little bit makes.  I used a chevron mask for a subtle background design, along with some paint splatters.

I love the rhinestone brads in this collection...they add the perfect touch!

The chipboard shapes are awesome, too.  I outlined this cute banner to make it pop.

You can find this collection in the store HERE, and there's an awesome discount available now for Memorial Day! Use the code MEMDAY2013 and get 25% off your order!

Have a GREAT day!

They love their Boppy!

My kiddos think that their grandpa is just the "Bees Knees" (or that's how he would say it, anyways!).  What better line to use than Fancy Pants Swagger!

My page is based on the sketch I designed for the sketch blog today!  Check it out HERE.

I cut apart the chevron paper and distressed the edges of the points.  Then I layered them on top of each other to create some texture.  The orange circles I cut out and stitched a few concentric circles around the outside edge.

There are a ton of mustache papers out there, so I am glad that someone in my family has one so that I can use it on a page!  :)  I fussy cut one out from the patterned paper and used it on my title area.

Hope you have a wonderful Memorial Day weekend!

Some Soup Please

That would be Jillibean Soup.  Irish Farm House Soup to be exact.  Now I've never been much of a fan of soups but this is one soup I will certainly slurp up.  I love the combination of colors in this line that can lean towards girly or boyish.  I chose to create a LO about both.  This was our trip last summer exploring the US Alabama battleship.

Vintage Bliss

Hello and happy Wednesday!

Lisa here today to share a layout I made using the Simple Stories Vintage Bliss line. This is one of my favorite collections of Simple Stories, the colors are amazing!

I posted this layout the other day for my lift challenge on the message board. I lifted LoriS, her layout is amazing!

I used older pictures of my daughter sitting on the bench in our back yard. I added some twine and Glimmer Mist spatters to the background paper for a little more color.

Thanks for stopping by and enjoy your day!

Buds.

Hello and good morning...

Today I am sharing a layout I  made and actually got quite a bit messy with. I used Echo Park's All About a Boy collection for it.
First I took a mask and some Gesso, which I have only recently finally gotten into using. I painted the mask and let it dry. Next I just moved the mask over a bit and then misted with some blue to add more texture to the page.
I punched out stars with the orange paper and used some of the MME enamel dots through out the page.
I also distressed most of my edges and added some stitching too.
Some times it's kinda fun to get down and dirty on your layout...

Have a great day

This Never Happens

Happy Saturday, friends!  I hope you're enjoying a relaxing day today.  Missy here to share a layout I made using the Sweet Girl collection from Echo Park.  These colors and patterns are right up my alley!  I just adore bright colors, and this collection doesn't disappoint.

I've been printing a lot of my photos lately in black and white.  I especially love how the colors pop right next to them.  It also helps if your photos have a lot of busy colors going on that don't really go together.  Plus, you can use any color scheme if the photos are neutral like this.

If you like this collection, you can buy it HERE!

I combined a die-cut title word with the alpha stickers in the collection.

I cut all those hearts on my Cameo, and then I backed them with patterned paper.

Lots of layers and mist splatters...my favorite!

Thanks for visiting us at My Scraps, and have a GREAT weekend!

Missy :)

The Future's So Bright....

You 80's music fans probably know the rest of that phrase....  :)

I combined some of the latest Fancy Pants lines including Trendsetter and Parkbench, as well as a few bits from Echo Park All About A Boy.

I used today's sketch on the My Scraps & More Sketch blog, but changed it up a bit!

A few of the stickers on here are from some old things I had in my stash.  I have been trying to including something from my stash on every page.

I layered some stickers, die cut papers, and buttons with a bit of twine, paint, and stitching thrown in.

Hope you have a bright weekend!

Boy Cards

How many of you are like me and when you have a card challenge you tend to go the feminine route?  It is so easy to make pretty girly cards.  Well the problem with that is I have 2 boys and 4 nephews, in other words lots of boy birthday parties.

I have actually resorted to buying a few cards lately because I had no boy cards in my stash and no time to make them.  I took my oldest shopping the other day and told him to pick out a card for his friend and his response was "can't you make one, these are all babyish".  How could I say no to him choosing one of my cards over a store bought.  I went ahead and made one and decided it was time to start making some boy cards to have in my stash.  I created three cards using Echo Parks All About a Boy collection.

A Little Swagger!

Hello and happy Wednesday!
Lisa here to share a layout using the Fancy Pants Swagger Collection. This is such a fun line!
I used an older photo of my husband on vacation in Mexico:

I love the hat:

and the staches are so fun, I just had to add one under my button:

I added a lot of distressing, ink and stitching on this layout to make it more masculine :)

hope you have a wonderful day!

Cherish and Everyday Cute

Hello and good morning...

I am OVER the moon when Tammi mentioned that she was going to be caring some of the Elle's Studio products in the store, and was super excited to see the Serendipity collection. I have been a HUGE fan of Elle's products for a looong time, and was even more excited when they started releasing paper.

Here is a layout the I created using the Serendipity line:
I esp loved how the paper actually had the CHERISH word on it, which helped make my title work easy for me. The Flowers paper had the number strips on the bottom of the page, which I used to make a list of things that I cherish about my lil one.

Next up, is a layout that I used the collection on:
I decided to go with a "grid" look and add a bit of lots of the papers to the layout.
I fussy cut out the leaves from the Cherish paper and added them throughout.
Make sure to head over to the My Scraps & More store to see how wonderful the Serendipity line is.

have a wonderful day,

Today was a lot of FUN!

Hello there, My Scraps friends!  Missy here today to share a layout I created using a mix of two American Crafts lines...Lucky Charm and Yes, Please.  I created it based on a photo-inspired challenge over on our boards.  Every Saturday there is a new challenge that presents you with a photo that you can use for inspiration.  You can go HERE to see the challenge.

I pulled my bright colors from the photo and went to work.  I love all the fun colors in these two lines, and the black and white photos really pop against all that color.  I added some orange paint since there wasn't a lot of orange in the papers.  I love how it turned out :)

I've really been itching to use vellum again lately, so I punched out a few hearts and lightly inked the edges.  I think I'll be incorporating more vellum into more pages very soon!  I just love that you can still see everything through it!

You should hop on over to the message boards and check out all the fun challenges going on daily.  Also, check out the store HERE...lots of fun new lines coming in!

Thanks for stopping by, and have a fantastic weekend!

Missy :)

Can't have a rainbow without the rain!

I just LOVED this piece of paper from Echo Park's "Sweet Girl" collection, but I was having a hard time figuring out how to use such a big, bold print.

My initial thought was to cut it up into smaller "rainbows" but instead, I just trimmed off about a 4" piece from the top, and used it on my page like this:

I mixed it up with some other American Crafts papers that I had, and tried to keep the rest of the design simple.  I also used the grey on the bottom of the page to make the rainbow stand out more on top!

I am so inspired this time of year to use rainbow prints and clouds and sunshines!!!  There are lots of great new products in the store that have these things!  Check out all the "newest arrivals"!
