BLOG HOP!*****

Hey there, friends!  Missy here with you today.  I hope you're having a great weekend so far!  Hopefully you're taking part in our Blog Hop and checking out the new challenges coming in just a few days.  This is the final week of the current challenges, and this is the last "Friday Find" Challenge.  I did some searching online and found a cute and easy tutorial on how to dress up paper clips.  You just add some washi tape to the ends of them and you have a cute embellishment to add to your page!  I added mine to the right of the photo.  For this page, I used the Park Bench collection from Fancy Pants.

I added two of my favorite things...modeling paste and stamps!  I love layering up patterned paper, too.

Washi, washi, washi!  Woo hoo!

Here is a close-up of my washi paper clips...they look like little flags, don't they?

Here's another shot of the modeling paste covered in gold color spray...very shimmery.

Click the link at the top of this post to join in the Blog Hop fun...there is an AWESOME prize for one lucky Hopper!

Thanks for stopping by today, and enjoy your Labor Day weekend!

Back to School

This week my kids headed back to school.  I was always on the overwhelming side of the students but since I started working at the school last year I have seen the overwhelming side of the teachers.  I can't count the number of ladies I know that have spent numerous weekends and summer days up at the school trying to prepare for a successful new year.  It is a never ending list of things to do.  I decided to help brighten my youngest ones first days.  I thought a little sugar rush might be needed to make it through their first day.  For each of them I bought a cup and filled it with candy and then added some tags with a cute quote I found off pinterest.  I used 2 different collections from Jillibean Soup, Chilled Cucumber Soup and Irish Farm House Soup.

Autumn of course picked the pink flower cup, and Austin picked the green one.  Which will actually go pretty well with the personalities of their teachers.
I hope all of your little and big ones have a great new school year.

Don't forget we are having a blog hop this weekend, it starts tomorrow.  Hope you will hop along with us!

Proud of You.

Hello and good morning...

One thing that was pretty popular a few years back was to use colorful cardstock for your background base. I remember I would take papers to my LSS and try to find the perfect shade of cardstock to match my papers. I have soooo much colored cardstock in my stash, I know I will never be able to use it all. I pull it our for the kid's projects, but not too much often than that.

So my challenge for the stash daily challenge: is to use some color cardstock on your base of your layout, no kraft, white or black- which as my go to's...
I used some green that went along with the papers from the  Fancy Pants Memories Captured collection
I loved the fun circles from the Panorama paper and fussy cut out several of them and added them across the page:
I mixed the star papers and added the woodgrain paper for some additional green through the page:
Make sure to check out the Fancy Pants Memories Captured line in the My Scraps store....

Have a wonderful day.

Always Up to Something!

Hey, friends!  Missy here today.  I've been going through my stash of collections, and I've been on a Fancy Pants kick.  I have had some bits and pieces from the Hopscotch collection left over, so I pulled them out and used them up.  The bright rainbow colors are perfect for me, and they complimented the pinks and greens in my photos :)

I started with black cardstock, an arrow template and some paint.  I like the way the paint smudged around the edges and made messy arrows.  I traced over them with a black pen.  I added a little stamping, some washi tape, some yellow floss, some rhinestones, and even some blue tissue paper.  The rest is layers...I love tearing paper and distressing the edges...and making it crooked!

Look at all the color....I can't get enough of it!  I cut "always" on my Cameo and painted it blue.

Floss (or twine) is a great way to add texture and detail to a page.  You can get any color you want at a craft store, and they're usually $.33 a piece.

Here's a close-up of the tissue paper...I just crumpled it up and stuck it in there...great texture!  Don't overlook the gift wrap aisle in the dollar store.  You'd be surprised at all the things you can do with tissue.

A close-up of the paint, stamps and rhinestones...love some bling!

Although this Hopscotch line is long gone from the store, there are TONS...and I mean TONS of new lines!  And there are more coming...so I know there's something there you'll love.  I hope you'll check it out...there's a 33% off sale going right now, too!

Have a GREAT day, and thanks for stopping by!

Tubin'

No, not "TUB-in", "TOOB-in"!  I used today's sketch from the My Scraps & More Sketch blog for this page below.  I altered it a little by shrinking the size of the squares and arranging them off center.  I also used 4 photos instead of 2.

I have been trying to use up my summer stash, and this page has some papers from Studio Calico "Sundrifter" and "Atlantic" collections from the store.

I cut the chevrons from some of the patterned papers.  I love the ombre look!  Then I stitched down the center.

The blue background paper has some white waves on it and I wanted to accent them.  I was at first going to attempt to paint them, but then I had an epiphany and decided to break out my old old stash of puffy fabric paints!  It worked perfectly!

Have a great weekend!

Rebelling

It's sad to say but my summer is over.  I had to go back to work this week for in-service and teacher work days.  How did the summer go by so fast?  I would much rather be back enjoying the beach than stuck inside.  I created this page using Carta Bella Beach Boardwalk.

If any of you are still on summer break, enjoy it while you can!  Don't forget this our last week of the Got Talent Contest so get those pages done!

What A Wonderful Day!

Hey there!
Lisa here today to share a layout I made using the What A Wonderful Day collection by Fancy Pants.
I only used one piece of patterned paper in a very small quantity of it -the multi-colored polka dot paper and added some ribbon weaved through some of my eyelet stash.. For the rest of my layout, I used the What A Wonderful Day embellies to give color to my white cardstock and added a few black paint spatters:

Here are a few close ups:

Hope you have a wonderful Wednesday!

So Much Love

Hello and good morning...

Every now and again, I like to add a bit of more of journaling to a page, and sometimes I just feel it needs the basics- what, what, and when. For this page, I was working with the Fancy Pant's It's a Wonderful Day line.

As I looked at the Label Stickers from the line, I noticed that lots of them had fun, cute advice to add to a page. So as I selected my sticker accents, I made sure that they all gave some sort of advice, as if I was speaking to my daughter, and things I hoped that I could teach her- "dream big" "be filled with wonder" "be happy" "never give up" "think happy thoughts".
I used a fun circle punch on the corkboard paper to create some texture on the page:
I also mixed some alphas for the title work, along with distressing my edges:
Hope you will check out that line and see how wonderful it is... you can pick it up in the My Scraps & More store HERE.

Have a wonderful day.

Say Cheese! -- Fancy Pants

Happy Saturday, friends! Missy here with you today to share a fun page I made using the Memories Captured line from Fancy Pants.  Let me just say that I LOVE LOVE LOVE this collection!  Just look at the colors...they're oh so yummy!  Every single piece of patterned paper had me oooohing and aaahhhhing over it :)

It's hard to tell in this picture, but I used a circle template and some modeling paste on the light blue background paper, just to give it some texture and interest.  I left it white, and and when it dried, it's almost transparent.  I really like the way it looks...you can see it, but it's very subtle.  I went with lots of layering on this page, and I finally used that awesome viewfinder film reel....LOVE that piece!

I cut Cheese! on my Cameo.  Here you can see the modeling paste better, as well as some of the layering.

I distressed my edges, added in some border stamps, and I also used some of the flair buttons in the collection...they are so fun!

I really love the little cameras in this collection, and those foam stars...I can't get enough of them!  There are also hearts and arrows available.  I cut the Today circle on my Cameo.

Here's a close-up of the pasted circles...I think they just add a neat little touch to the page.  If you haven't tried modeling paste and masks, you should!  It's fun and easy.  The hard part is waiting for it to dry :)

Check out all the awesome Fancy Pants lines available in the My Scraps Store.  This one is at the top of my list of favorites, for sure!

Thanks so much for stopping by, and have a GREAT day!

Pancake Breakfast!

On the first Saturday of every month, a church in a town near our summer lakehouse has a pancake breakfast.  Eggs, pancakes, sausage, and homemade blueberry sauce for $5!  YUM!

When I saw the latest sketch on the Lily Bee blog, the big circles reminded me of pancakes, so I dug out some Lily Bee papers and used them on my page!  I stuck with browns and blues because of the blueberry pancakes theme and then added in some yellow for contrast!

I stitched a frame in the middle of the page and then added some punched circles on top.

I used my die cutting machine to cut the big circles from the bottom and popped some brown paper off the back to give it some depth.

Finally, some buttons and label stickers to embellish some more!

Are you hungry now??  :)

Have a great weekend!

I'm in Love!!

First I have a confession to make.  Normally I'm not a big fan of Bella Blvd.  It is cute but just doesn't seem to fit my photos well.  But then I saw their new collection called Daily Chevies. OMG, I love it!!  Even though they have been out for a while I'm still a huge fan of Chevrons.  This collection comes with chevrons in fabulous bright colors.  Then it has one of my second loves, arrows.

How awesome are those!  They come in the same fun colors that the chevron paper is in.  Now after raving about the chevrons you will see they are hard to see in my LO.  For this page I actually only cut off the tip of the chevrons to create the small triangles.  The hearts came from another page from the collection that I cut out to give the page dimension.
