Hello and Bring On the New Year.

Hello and good morning...

Happy New Years Eve!!!! I can't believe that 2013 is wrapping up and 2014 starts tomorrow. wow... that time goes by too fast!!!

My lil one loves toe grab my phone and pretend to talk on in. She calls the phone a "Hello" which is too cute. I used Fancy Pants Collecting Moments line for this one.

I added some yellow mist on the page and border punched the top and bottom strips:

The phone embellie was perfect for the photos, so I was excited to use it:

And here's a New Years Card to top the year off with, using the same line...

Hope you and your family have a VERY safe and Happy New Year!!! May 2014 bring peace and happiness.

A One Horse Open Sleigh...Giveaway Monday 12/30/13

Happy Monday scrappy friends! I hope that everyone had a magical holiday! Now that the BIG day is over, it's time to get back into the scrappy mood. Sometimes its hard getting the mojo flowing again after a little time off but I have just the inspiration you need to kick start it again...a scrappy challenge!
This challenge that I am sharing was day five during My 12 Days of Christmas event on the message boards. Even though the challenges for that have ended, you have until January 5th to play along!!! Here is your challenge:

Your challenge is to use any part of the photo below and use it on your layout. It can be one little word or a whole saying. It's all up to you!

I used the phrase "a one horse open sleigh" and scrapped photos of my son from a few years ago visiting a little Christmas village of sorts.

The papers are from the October Afternoon "Silent Night" collection which is just so beautiful! Would you like to play with some of it yourself? If you said yes, then leave me a comment here letting me know what the best thing about the past holiday for you and I will chose a winner next week with the help of random.org! Laughing & Smiling with Pebbles

Happy Saturday, friends!  It's Missy here with you today.  The page I'm sharing here is one I created for last week's Mix it Up Monday challenge.  The rules were to use vellum, use flowers, use a pre-made title and to tear at least one piece of paper.  I have been wanting to use the new From Me To You line from Pebbles, and this was the perfect page for it!

It's interesting about the piece of paper on the left...I created it with a template, modeling paste and Color Shines months ago.  I made it with the intentions of using it on another layout.  It didn't work the way I wanted it to, but I loved how this part looked, so I kept it.  When I pulled out this Pebbles line, I noticed that it matched perfectly.  I had to incorporate it somehow on this page!  It looks like I made it specifically for this line, but I didn't.  Funny how things like that happen sometime.

I added some floss under my title layer, and I also added some of the coordinating chipboard flowers on top.

A button adds a bit of interest, and this cute little word piece is a necklace charm.  I found a big bag of them at Michael's...they add the perfect touch to a page!

Another angle of flowers, buttons and word charms.

I love vellum!  I made a boo-boo though...I used my tape gun and now you can see the tape through the vellum.  I really need to get one of those large staplers that can staple anywhere on the page!

And a close-up of my modeling paste piece...I just love how the Color Shine dries on top of the paste.  What a cool look!

Be sure to come join us over on our boards!  We'd love to see you there playing along with our challenges!

Thanks for stopping by today!

Missy :)

Believe

I used today's sketch from the My Scraps & More sketch blog for my holiday page today!  Check out the sketch HERE.  I am still trying to catch up on Christmas photos from 2012!

I love love the seasonal colors in the Basic Grey 25th & Pine collection.  There are a ton of awesome embellishments in this collection, too!

On the bottom edge I used some washi tape to create a border and then I machine stitched around the main part of the layout.

Just to add a little interest, I added some vellum tags and a few sparkly brads.

For my title, I kept it simple with a sticker sentiment over a vellum star.

Hope you had a wonderful holiday and enjoy the weekend!

Tis the Season to Scrap

Hello my dear scrappy friends.  I hope you had a wonderful Christmas.  I have to say I'm very fond of the day after Christmas.  It is a day to  relax  and enjoy the quiet as the kids are usually pretty occupied with the gifts they have received.  This is also the time I get to spend lots of time scrapping.  I spend most of my time scrapping holiday photos.  Now, generally not the ones from this holiday.  This is the time I get the ones done from last year.  Something about it being the holiday season make me excited to scrap them.  I try to use that as holidays are not my favorite thing to scrap.  There are so many photos and they all start to blend together through the years.

This photo happens to actually be one from this year.  Only because it was a photo that the school took and gave to us (otherwise I would have never had it printed already, LOL) I created this page using Simple Stories December Documents.

I don't think there is a line of Simple Stories I don't like :)

Hey there Scrappy Friends!
Lisa here today to share a layout I made using the Fancy Pants Merry Little Christmas Collection. I am a huge Fancy Pants fan and just love all the embellies in this fun Christmas line!

Here is my layout:

I created my doily using a Kreaxions 4 in 1 Punch along with their Star Template:

I added some punching to the bottom of the photo mat and added some stitching throughout the layout.

Here's hoping you and your family have the best Christmas ever!

MERRY CHRISTMAS!

Me & You & some Crate Paper

Happy Saturday, everyone!  It's Missy again today...have you ever started creating a page and you thought that it was turning out to be a mess?  And then once you finished it, you just loved everything about it?  This page I'm sharing today is a good example of that.

I created this for today's Saturday Steal Challenge over on our boards.  I chose a layout by member momtobecca and came up with this.  I used the Flea Market line from Crate Paper, and it is GORGEOUS!  There are so many colors and patterns, and I had black & white photos.  I wasn't sure which papers to use and how I wanted to coordinate them....I was just frustrated at first.  But then it just sort of started coming together.  I think my favorite part is all the shiny gold!  It's hard to see it in photos, but there are gold frames, gold chipboard, gold in the top banner piece, gold in the button under the photos, and I even painted some shiny gold onto my modeling paste in the background!

One of my new favorite things is to add thread to my pages.  I have so much colored floss, and I just simply pull each thread apart and make a pile of it.  I just like the look of it.  I also love layers and textures :)

I cut my title on my Cameo and added some paint to it.  I also outlined part of it with a black pen.

Shiny gold paint!  I picked up a cheap bottle of it at Michael's....it's Martha Stewart and it was on sale!  It paints right on so easily.

This collection has some fabulous ephemera...like this pre-stitched banner piece!  Just adhere it...as is....no muss, no fuss!

I sure hope you hop on over to our boards and join in with our daily challenges.  Lots of fun, lots of inspiration, lots of prizes!

Have a great day!

Missy :)

Hello Christmas Tree!

I try to limit myself to the Christmas collections I buy each year because there are always just SOOO many great ones!  I bought three, and the Glitz Designs "Hello December" was one of them!  I just loved the bold colors in this collection, and especially the yellow, which I think is so different for holiday collections!

I did this page about getting our tree this year!  I was inspired by Tammi's challenge on the 12 Days of Christmas challenges to use cards (4x6 or 3x4) on your page.

The word "Christmas" is actually cut from one of the papers in the collection.  The triangle (tree) is a sticker from the sticker sheet.

I decided to go with the small car/tree sticker (there is another larger one in the die cut pack) because I wanted my photos to stand out more.  I just poppe the sticker off a circle I punched from patterned paper.

On the background, you can see I used a Glitz roller doodle stamp to created the triangles, and then I cut the tree from patterned paper.

I can't wait to use more of this collection!  Have a great weekend!

Seasons Greetings!!!

Can  you believe we are less than a week away from Christmas?  I hope you are ready.  Do you send out Christmas cards anymore?  If you do, then have you actually mailed them yet? :)  Mine are just going out today, yep a little late, but better late than never right.  I almost didn't send out cards this year, but it just seemed so sad to not do it.  I won't say I put a whole lot of effort into it though.  I created the Wal-mart photo cards using our pictures from our vacation in the Smoky Mountains over Thanksgiving.

There are a few people who will be getting hand made cards.  I really do enjoy making cards, I just don't have a lot of time.  I also prefer to make them for people who I know will appreciate the work that went into it.  Here are two cards I made for the ladies who work in the office at our school.  I used 2 different collections from Glitz, Hello December and Finnley.

May your holiday be filled with joy and blessings from above!

Meeting Spongebob

Hello and happy Wednesday scrappy friends!
My son is a huge SpongeBob fan and on our trip to the Mall of America last year on Spring Break he finally got to meet him:

I created this layout for Saturdays Scrap lift challenge on the message board. I lifted a layout by Meterr and used the Glitz Finnley line.

Enjoy the rest of your day!

Owl.

Hello and good morning...

This past Halloween my little one was an owl. I had seem the costume a couple months in advance and got it early, I couldn't wait to dress her in it. But I felt like the photos didn't really need Halloween papers and embellies necessarily, so I decided to use something other then a themed Halloween collection.. I used Fancy Pants Collecting Moments line for this layout.

So I came up with this page:
I added some tears in the paper to see a peek of the other side:

And then added one of the flower embellies from the ephemera pack: along with some AC Thickers.
I love looking at the photos and not just thinking ohhhh Halloween. Make sure to check out the collection HERE in the store, and pick some up before it's all gone.

Thanks so much for stopping by and have a great day
