Boys Rule!

Have you gotten your hands on any of the new collections that have been arriving at the store yet? I got spoiled while owning the store so I still find myself wanting EVERYTHING!! One of the collections on my must have list was the "Boys Rule" line from Crate Paper. I really like what this company comes out with from all of the awesome patterned papers to all of the amazing matching embellishments!! One this page I think I used 4 different embellishment packs! Yes I know...crazy... but fun just the same!!

You can check out this awesome collection in the store here and after, head over to the sketch blog and see today's sketch by me which inspired this page!

Have a great weekend and thanks so much for making My Scraps a part of your day!!

Simple Stories

I've been trying to dig into my old to make way for the new.  I know I don't really need the new but I just can't resist and Simple Stories is one I can never resist.  Here is a page I created using Simple Stories Say Cheese.

I played with a little bit of modeling paste and added just a bit of color to it make it stand out just a bit from the white background.

Fresh and New.

Hello and good morning...

I'm sharing another page with you using the Studio Calico Story Time collection. It's just soooo sweet I couldn't resist using it again. The photos were taken of my little one while she was still in the hospital and soooo fresh and new:

I added some twine and scattered it across the page, and inked a few of the wood veneer pieces... and cut out the clouds from the transparency paper:

I also topped off the page with bits of washi tape too:

Thanks soooo much for stopping by today!!!!

What does it LOOK like?

Sometimes shopping online can be hard, especially for scrapbooking supplies.  What EXACT pieces are in that package of ephemera I am about to buy? What is the texture of that paper like?  I thought of this as I was physically looking through all the product in the store this past weekend and did a little shopping for myself! The images that I had seen of the products in stock just didn't do them justice sometimes.

So I decided that I am going to start showing you some photos of the REAL that I have taken so that you can see some more detail and what is actually IN the package.  Now obviously, I have to OPEN the packages to see these things, so I will share with you today two items that I bought for myself!

The first are the gold foil leaves from Studio Calico, Lemon Lush.  They are vellum leaves of different shades of green, yellow, and blue, whose tips are gold.

Here they are on a sneak of a page I am working on:

Another item that I just love are these acetate sheets, also from Studio Calico, Wanderlust.  There are 12 different 4 1/4 x 6" acetate sheets with white printing on them, each one a different pattern.  PERFECT for card making or pocket page scrapping!

Here is a sneak of one I used on a card:

You should REALLY check out the embellishments in both the LemonLush and Wanderlust collections from Studio Calico.  They are very versatile for any type of layout or project!

So is there a certain product that you would like to see in more detail????  Just let me know and I will try and take a photo for you to see!

Sweet Little Valentine Party

Happy Saturday!  Missy here.  Today I'm sharing another layout I created for the 2nd Annual Love is in the Air Crop going on over on our boards.  The challenges all have to be complete by tomorrow if you're still trying to squeeze some in.

One of the challenges I hosted was the "Lace & Lingerie" Challenge :)  Not what you think...haha!  The rule was to use two different see through items on your layout.  I used vellum, a clear frame, clean acetate hearts & the Sweet title.  The majority of this layout is the Love Notes collection from Crate Paper.  So sweet and pretty!

Love these cute flair buttons...they are becoming one of my favorite embellishments lately.  I raised it up over the cord to give it some depth.

I love this Sweet piece!  I'm really digging the see through thing...I like that you can still see the patterned paper beneath it.

I added some chipboard elements here and there...isn't the XO so cute?

You can find the Crate Paper Love Notes collection HERE in the My Scraps Store.  Be sure to check out the code to get 20% off your order!

Thanks for stopping by, and have a great weekend!

keepin' it Simple...

Good Morning! Tammi here with you today to share a page I recently created with one of the new Simple Sets from Simple Stories. For this layout I used the "Fresh Air" set and after playing, I know I am going to have to order a couple more of these kits. Cute stuff I tell ya!!!

The banner was created from the sticker sheet in the package which I cut apart...

Simple Stories released 4 different Simple Sets... Fresh Air, Hey Mom, Hey Pop and Summer Paradise! They are available in the store here but I am sure they will be gone quickly as scrappers realize how great they are!!

Have a great weekend and thanks so much for making My Scraps a part of your day!!

My Little Nerd

My daughter makes scrapping so much fun.  She always wants to be involved in everything that goes on and must be photographed too.  My boys just look at me like I'm crazy when I mention dressing up on fun days.  This photo was from red ribbon week when the kids were supposed to be too smart for drugs (dress as a nerd).  This Simple Stories Smarty Pants line fit so perfect for the nerd look.

Of course I had to add my latest addiction of modeling paste and also stuck with my old fave of Glossy Accents, which gave the glasses on the smarty tag the raised effect.

I couldn't resist adding in a strip of MME's Flair decorative tape. I mean tape with glasses, how cute is that?

Love and 15 Years

Hello and good morning...

Well the Love is In the Air crop is in full swing over in the forum, with LOTS of cool challenges to play along with...

First up in a pinterest inspired challenge. I found this love PIN and wanted to use it for an inspiration challenge:

There's some much to use from it... the colors, the blocks, the word love, mixed alphas... the choice is yours. Here is what I came up with using Crate's Love Notes line:

I focused on the layered blocks and used ti for my title on the page, along with pulling some of the colors:

A second challenge I have going is a color challenge, I used these colors:

And created this page with the colors, using a mix of Lily Bee's papers for this:

There are tons of cool challenge going on in the Love is in The Air crop... so check them out, it's still going on.....

Thanks soooo much for stopping by

But wait, there's MORE!

WOW!  What a weekend!  We have an AWESOME crop going on on the forums and also had a sale for the store with TONS of new goodies!  If you missed the sale, you can always still save 20% off your order with the February code:

You might need it because there is even MORE scrappy goodness headed this way this week!!!  Look for new products from Lawn Fawn, Jillibean Soup, and Fancy Pants!!

OK, so let me share one of the pages I posted for the crop using American Crafts Amy Tan Cut & Paste collection.

The challenge is to use a single piece of patterned paper (front and back if you choose), a single photo, a single word title, and a single piece of cardstock.  As you can see, I used a piece of paper with a large print on it so that it took up most of the page.  The smaller triangles are actually some fabric photo corners that were a part of this collection.

I stitched on some of the lines, splattered a bit of mist, and then just a few sequins and stars.

Hot Date in Vegas

Happy Saturday, My Scraps friends!  Missy here.  First and foremost, if you haven't heard...we're having our 2nd Annual Love is in the Air Crop right now!  Check out our boards to see 18 different challenges for you, plus games and prizes!  There is so much inspiration going on over don't want to miss out!

Each design team member is hosting three different challenges.  One of my challenges is to use 14 of something on your page.  I chose to use 14 different products.  As I was creating this, it really hit me how far the scrapbooking industry has come!  There are SO many different things to use!  I pulled out the new Be Loved collection from Fancy Pants and easily pulled all my items together.  Can you count all 14 items?

Just in this picture alone I have a die-cut, patterned paper, stickers, envelope, wood veneer, chipboard and stamping.  That's half already :)

Here are three more...button, thread and sequins :)

Flair and washi tape are added to the list.

My final two items are a tag and watercolor paints.  I hope you can squeeze in some time to come join us!  We're having a blast!

Thanks for stopping by, and have a great day!

Are you guys ready for some LOVE?  Tomorrow starts our second annual Love Is In the Air Crop.  Now don't fret we are not going to get all mushy and require you to make 15 layouts about Valentines Day.  If you are like me you have very few Valentines pictures.  I have 3 kids so generally have about 3 LO's to do.  I'm giving you a bit of a sneak peak at one of my challenges.  Here is my "mi amor" challenge.  Which means "my love" in Italian.

Hope you will join us this weekend for all the fun challenges and games.  And to see what my challenge is all about.

Lil Rock Star

Hello and good morning..

Lately I have been swooning over the Studio Calico Story Time line... the elephants in it are just precious.. I'm not quite sure how elephants became associated with baby lines, but I love it, and they make the cutest embellishments.
Here's a photo of my little one from almost two years ago, I feel like she is growing up right before my eyes!!! I used my title from the onesie that she was wearing:

I used several of the sticker embellies from the line along with some MME enamel dots, and a punch to soften up the page:

I told ya I'm a sucker for the elephants- I inked my wood veneer pieces and added them tot the page:

And topped off the page with the cloud transparency paper:

So if you need the ideal baby line... Studio Calico's Story Time is perfect... and it has a boy and girl version...

Thanks sooo much for stopping by today
