Forever Friends!

Is it really the end of March already?  Where did this month go?

If you haven't been able to tell from all my previous posts, Crate Paper happens to be one of my favorite manufacturers!  On this page, I use a little bit of the Oh Darling and Styleboard collections.  These two collections work GREAT with each other!

I wanted to go a bit "girly" with this page since it was about my daughter and her friends.  They are so adorable together! I used some vellum doilies, hearts, and butterflies to give a softer feel to the page and added some pops of that bright teal blue color for contrast.

Again, there are some more of those gold foil accents in some of the vellum pieces and die cuts...I am so in love with GOLD lately!

The "prize ribbon" chipboard piece had some writing on it that wasn't fitting with my page so I covered it up with another piece of chipboard and a chipboard heart on top of that.  It gave it some dimension, too!

Check out all of the Crate Paper releases HERE.

A Day in the Life of a Drama Queen

Happy Saturday, My Scraps fans!  Missy here today.  The layout I'm sharing here make me just laugh every time I look at it.  This picture of my little girl is hilarious.  She decided to pitch herself a little fit on this day.  She's so tiny and cute in her swimsuit and flip flops :)  Something ticked her off, and I just had to take pictures.  Gotta get all the memories documented...good and bad...haha!

I used last week's sketch over on the sketch blog for this layout. I used a lot of American Crafts Day Dreamer for this one, along with some Plus One.  I'm SO in love with these collections...they are just beyond amazing!  I added some gesso to my background to fade out some of the black lines.  The bottom left already had some blue watercolor on it, so I added more around my circle.  I also added in washi tape and stamping.  The fun large film strip on the right side is a stamp.

Lots of elements going on here...stickers, tape, wood, stamping and thread.  I love layering everything!

I also love mixing up my title fonts.  Here, I used my label maker, some old Thickers and a Cameo die-cut.  I layered all that on top of my papers, tape and thread.

More layers...paper, thread, tape, stamps and stickers!

I hope this inspires you to scrap those not-so-happy moments in life...they happen all the time, and they're part of us.  Have a GREAT weekend!

Thanks for stopping by!

Missy :)

HB2U

Happy Friday! Tammi here with you to share a recent page I created with the brand new Birthday Bisque collection from Jillibean Soup. We all have birthdays to celebrate and hopefully photos to scrap from those special days, so I am always excited when I see a great birthday line come out! I used this collection for my son's birthday pictures but is very gender neutral with a mix of blues, pinks, oranges and many great themed papers.

I cut the party banner from the bite size bits sheet of paper...

The popped up balloons are from the pea pod parts which has a ton of great little die cuts to spruce up your pages.

Jillibean introduced their new wood sprinkles with this release which make a great addition to their already wonderful line of products!!

Check out this collection as well as the new Sightseeing Stew and  Spicy Social Soup in the store here. You may just find one or two (or more like me) items that just HAVE to come to your home!! There are still a couple of days left that you can save 20% off your entire order with the code:  SAVESOMEGREEN20

Thanks so much for making My Scraps part of your day! Have a good one!!!

Cool Kids

Hello and good morning...

Today I'm sharing a boy layout with you. One thing that I am ALWAYS on the look out for is a good, fun boy line. Now that my son is about to become a teenager, I'm also looking for a bit more grown up boy line, not too babyish.. When the That's My Boy line came out, I saw it and knew it was perfect for his age right now.

I scrapped a boy page of my son and his cousin who came up for a visit over the Christmas break. I used Echo Park's Thats My Boy line for it.

I had to include some enamel dots with some inked wood stars:

along with some machine stitching and a fun new banner punch I got:

I'm always such a fun of the Echo Park Element Stickers, they make the perfect addition to any page.. also just add some pop dots on them, and they become dimensional.

Thanks sooo much for stopping by today.

Have you been playing around with the sketches on the sketch blog lately??  Tammi does such a fantastic job with the sketches!!! I love using them as starting points on my page! Check out this weeks sketch!

I got to use some of the Crate Paper Maggie Holmes Styleboard on this page. At first, this was one of those collections that I wasn't too sure about, but when I saw it in person, I LOVED it!

With this Crate Paper line (and the others in this release, too) there are some awesome embellishments like die cuts and vellum, PLUS a lot of gold foil accents, which I LOVE!  The polka dots on the background of this page are actually gold foil, but don't photograph that way.

I lightly brushed some gesso on the background with a dry brush and then stitched a circle to anchor the photo.  The white thread wasn't standing out enough for me, so I traced it in some spots with a white pen.

Easter Baskets

Happy Saturday!  Missy here with you today.  The layout I'm sharing today was created a few weeks ago for a Throwback Thursday challenge over on our boards.  The challenge was to use a collection that is at least a year old, and use some vellum.  Vellum is definitely making a comeback.  I remember seeing it when I first started scrapping years ago, and I had no idea what it was for or how to use it.  You can do so much with it!

I used the very pretty & soft Sweet Day collection from Echo Park.  It's from 2012, but it's still gorgeous.  I decided to scrap some pictures of my girls with their Easter baskets.  I think the colors are perfect here.  I used vellum behind my patterned papers (I tore and inked the edges) and then I stamped hearts onto the vellum and embossed them with gold powder.  Then I cut them out and used them around the page.

I raised this cute sticker up with pop dots...I love that a little shadow is created underneath it.  You can really see the depth.

I popped up the banner, too, and added more thread.  I still love banners :)

A close up of the gold embossed hearts...this was so fun & easy to do!

I am just obsessed with gold these days!  I drew some circles with my gold pen and added some gold Color Shine drips.

I hope this inspires you to get out the vellum and do something fun with it!

Thanks for stopping by, and have a great day!

Missy :)

Selfie!

Good Morning! Tammi here with you today to share a recent page of mine. I don't know about your house, but in mine, Selfies seem to be the thing! My youngest son took this of himself and our dog Delilah and it just  MAKES.  ME.  SMILE!

Even the dog seems to be posing for the camera!! Haha! I dug out the older Glitz collection "Dapper Dan" because the colors just seemed to work! I also pulled out some of the All Boy embellishments from the October Afternoon Daily Flash II line and added it here and there on the page...

along with some drops of mist and enamel dots...

The little things you add to a page really seem to make a big difference. This layout is based on today's sketch over on the My Scraps & More's sketch blog. I hope that you will take the time to visit here and play along with us this week!!

Thanks so much for spending some time at My Scraps!! Have a great Friday!

Not a Valentines LO!

Just because  line talks about love and has hearts does not mean it has to be used for Valentines.  When I'm looking at lines I look more at the colors and how versatile it can be.  I knew the colors in Elle's Studio Love You More would have lots of options.  This page is a holiday page but it's not Valentines Day, it is Easter. The greens, grey, and browns worked very well for our outside Easter Egg hung and my sons non-Eastery colors of his clothing.

Here is a close up of one of the tags in the collection "a little note for You"

The Girls and Lil Ms Sass

Hello and good morning..

I just can't seem to get enough of the fun, brightly colored Amy Tangerine Plus One line that recently came out. The fun colors really seems to work with any type of photo, and I have loved cutting it up and using all the pretty papers...

The GIRLS: a photo of my girls and their only girl cousins on my side of the family.

I love the watercolor accents on several of the papers, it adds a soft feel to the line:

I added two colors of misting on the page, along with fussy cutting out some of the arrows from the Twosome paper:

and my second page LIL MS SASS:
I loved how fun the Combo paper was with lots of 3x4 tags to use through out your layout or even for Project Life scrapping, how versatile

The Remarks Puffy stickers are the perfect accent too:

and make sure to check out the fun fonts of the Thickers too...

Make sure to run...... not walk.. over to the My Scraps& More store to check out the Plus One line. It's too fun to pass up..

thanks for stopping by and have a great day...
