Happy Halloween!!

Happy Halloween, My Scraps friends!  Missy here.  I hope you all have a fun weekend planned!

Last week, I was lucky enough to be a Guest Designer on the American Crafts blog!  I thought I'd share with you my spooky creations since it's the perfect day for it :)  (Don't forget to check out the My Scraps STORE for all kinds of AC goodies!)

I knew I wanted to use this spider web die cut from the Silhouette store one of my layouts.  I decided to cut three in different sizes.  I used lots of different patterned papers for this and backed each opening with a different paper.  It took some time....not gonna lie....but I love the end result!  I also added some gesso and watercolor to my background.  This technique is really easy to do with any type of die cut.

Here's a close up of one of the webs.  This was really fun to create!

My next layout features my lovely little daughter, AKA The Hulk.  Haha!  If you know her, then you know this costume suits her perfectly.  I love how the bold orange and black background papers really allow the purple & green in the photos to pop.  I added some gesso to the background to make the black a little foggy here and there, and then I added some modeling paste through a stencil and added watercolor for interest.  I used a lot of stickers on this page.  They're so cute and fun!

I love tearing the edges of my patterned paper.  I just like the uneven look of it.  And for my "Hulk" cut, I combined a few letters from different fonts to create it.

I think I'm becoming more and more obsessed with die cuts these days!  This one is from The Cut Shoppe, which sells digital cut files.  I love the overlapped circles & hearts, and I knew it would make these sweet photos of Reese stand out.  I didn't want to make a scary page, so this helped sweeten it up!  I filled in a few of the circles and embellished with wood veneer, die cuts and stickers.  I did add some gesso and watercolor to my background (surprise...haha).  I also added lots of stitching.

Here you an see the paste and watercolor in the background.  These glitter Thickers are so pretty in person...very sparkly!  I adhered them to a light colored piece of patterned paper to make them stand out more.

I used some fun orange thread here and some black thread for around the edges.  And I added some orange ink to the edge of this round wood veneer...you can do a lot with those.

Here's the card I made.  I used different patterned papers and cut them into oblong triangles and stitched them down.  I added the full moon die cut and the fun Happy Halloween banner die cut.  And lots of stitching :)  I love how this turned out.

Lastly, I created a few home decor frames.  The stickers and tags are really easy to use for something like this.  These add a festive kick to any shelf during October, and you can easily do this with a Christmas line or Fall line...and change them out each season!  These are 5x7 frames, and it took me no time at all to embellish these.

These were really fun projects to make, and they really got me into the Halloween spirit!  I hope you get some scrappy time this weekend to create something fun!

Thanks for stopping by, and have a great weekend!

A little more Fall!!!

Can you tell I'm having fun with this Elle's Studio Sycamore Lane line?  I don't think I've ever scrapped this much from a fall line.  Here are two of my kiddos (the one's who actually like to be photographed).

I have been having fun playing with Fancy Pants Corrugated Cardboard.  It adds such a cool texture to the page.  This one I did a peek-a-boo look with a cardboard strip across the back of the page.

Happy Wednesday!

Hey there!
Have you taken a recent family photo? I try to do this at least once a year. This is still on my to do list this year;)
The photo on this layout was taken last spring at a family gathering at my nephews house. I used Simple Stories Homespun for this page:

Aren't the colors amazing? I love them!

Today... Is Full of Possibilities...

Hello and good morning...

I got sucked into some pics from 2012 and decided to scrap quite a few of them lately. I LOVE the freedom of just grabbing some photos and scrapping whatever I feel like. It's such a huge change from when I first started and would only scrap in order. I feel like I also get so much done when I pick to scrap what I want to.

I used the Fancy Pants True Friends line on my layout.

I added some mist and mixed it up with the True Friends sequins from the collection, the jar is packed!!!

And used several of the label stickers down the side of the photo:

Then added layers on layers... I couldn't pick just a few papers to use on this page, I love them all!!! And lots of stitching...

Thanks sooo much for stopping by and have a great day!!!!

Just PICK A PUMPKIN!

I think fall MIGHT be my favorite season to scrap!  I just love the color palette, and there are just so many fun fall activities to do!

Our trip to the pumpkin patch was a blast!  There were piles and piles of pumpkins, and the kids seemed to want every single one!  After 30 minutes, I was saying, "just PICK A PUMPKIN!!"

I used some American Crafts Autumn Crisp.  I LOVE the colors in this collection...traditional fall colors mixed with a minty green, teal, and navy blue!  Plus, the embellies have some gold accents!

And I just realized that I never did my journaling on this page!  Ha!  oops....

Another item that I like to use with my fall pages is anything BURLAP.  It is the perfect fall texture!  The burlap banners on my page are some old Little Yellow Bicycle, but  we have similar ones in the store by Simple Stories for the DIY line!

Wanna find some more burlap items?  Take a look at these:

Just a Couple of Crazies

Happy Friday, friends!  Missy here.  Just popping in to share a layout I created for a challenge a few weeks ago over on our boards.  I've been trying to use up some of my Glitz stash, and this was made using the Color Me Happy collection.  I decided to really change up the black and white triangle background by covering it with gesso.  I then added random stamping, some watercolor paints and some circles.  I used gelatos to get that colored shaded look inside them.  I was just in the mood for messy and colorful, and I love how it turned out :)

I love the giant rhinestones in this collection.  I decided to add a few of my own smaller ones to add a variation of color.  I also added lots of washi tape here and there.

Here's my journaling,  more rhinestones, more tape, more gelatos...more of all of my faves!

Here's a good shot of the layering and stamping.  Sometimes it's just fun to get messy and not really have a plan!

I hope this somehow inspires you to get a little messy this weekend!  I promise, it's FUN!

Thanks for stopping by, and have a great day!

Sycamore Lane

Not just for fall!  I really love how many of the fall themed lines this year contain so many bright colors that they can be used for any time of year. That is true for Elle's Studio Sycamore Lane.  This line does have some leaf patterns and a few fall sayings with it but the colors are quite versatile and if you have a daughter named Autumn like I do it works even better.

This page has pictures that were taken in May from my daughter's dance recital. As I said her name is Autumn so the phrase card worked out really well.  The green and yellow coloring matched her dance costume and the background flowers perfectly.

Creative Agenda

Happy Wednesday!
Lisa here to share a layout I made using the fun Echo Park line Creative Agenda along with sketch #92 from My Scraps & More Sketch Blog. I love the colors in this collection! I used a photo of my daughter and added the favorite things right now journaling card to create a fast and easy layout about her:

I tore and stitched quite a few of the beautiful patterned papers in this collection.
Here are a few close ups:

She is a junior in high school and is starting to plan for post high school, so this chipboard piece was perfect:

I added a flower and brad from my stash along with a few ink drops.

Hope you have a wonderful day!

Chubby Cheeks.

Hello and good morning....

When the Fancy Pants True Friend line came out, I was in love with the colors and kinda instantly thought what a great fall line. But I actually have been finding that it works with pretty much any season, and I really enjoy a collection that can stretch itself and be so versatile. I love that!!!!!

I pulled some older photos of my lil one from 2012 to work with, I just couldn't resist those lil chubby cheeks and needs to scrap the pictures.

I decided to add some random stitching along the circles going across the center strips. I used one of the label stickers for a quote.

I added a touch of turquoise mist to the page also:

and I am completely smitten with the Ephemera pack which comes with SO many embellies.

So don't miss out on this amazing collection... I really love it.. and I'm pretty sure you will too!! Check it out on the My Scraps Store HERE.
Also I used the My Scraps & More sketch #92, make sure to check it out and play along, there's a wonderful monthly prize to play for.

Thanks soo much for stopping by and have a wonderful day.

Friday Favorite / Las Vegas

Hey, friends!  Missy here to share another fun project with you.

Another Las Vegas layout....I know!  Haha!  I can't help it...I have so many fun pictures from a few trips out there this year, and I love scrapping them.  These photos are from back in March.  A few friends and I went out there for a Les Mills event (the company that creates BodyPump and lots of other workout programs).  I teach it, and so it was technically a "work trip."  Either way, we had a blast working out and exploring Vegas.  My friend Jennifer had never been, so we had to go check out the Bellagio and Caesar's Palace :)

I used a lot of American Crafts for this, as well as a little Basic Grey and Bo Bunny cardstock.  I created this for a Friday Favorite challenge at My Scraps and More last week, which is a scraplift challenge.  I lifted a page by Alissa, which featured an awesome grid design.

Lots of layering...I just love it!  I even added in some drywall tape as a layer here as well as some gold thread.  I love curling the edges of my paper, too...it gives great dimension.  Here you can also see the pretty watercolor I added to my background.

These alpha stickers are so old...they're Storyteller stickers from Webster's Pages.  I still think the cursive font is so pretty, and the colors I have matched this perfectly.  Isn't that drywall tape so neat?  Get it at Home Depot!

These gold shiny Thickers are SO cool! And if I make a Vegas page, I feel like it's required to use something blingy or sparkly :)  I love this big chipboard Hello circle.  I just can't get enough layering!

Thanks so much for stopping by today!  Have a great weekend!

Missy :)
