Joy.

Hello and good morning...

I always LOVE the latest releases from Elle's Studios, and the Good Cheer collection was no different.  The colors always tend to feel fresh and airy and the patterns are playful and fun. I used the line for a Christmas photo of me in front of the tree last year. I always try and play around with some "tree light" only photo taking.

I fussy cut the hexagons from the Holiday Quilt paper and added them through out the page.  I tend to work in the groups of 3 design alot.

I used several of the line's tags and cut outs to embellish the page with:

So now that you have a TON of holiday photos, check out the Elle's Studio Good Cheer line.. it's perfect.

Thanks sooo much for stopping by and have a great day!!!!

Its the end of the year!!!

Well it's the end of the year....time for resolutions and new beginnings!!!  Are you doing One Little Word?  Are you making a bucket list for the year?  Are you doing a yearly interview?

I've been cleaning some things out, especially in the store! If you haven't heard, I've marked down things up to 75% off!!!  I'm trying to make way for the upcoming CHA releases that are starting to show up in the scrappy world. There are some awesome things in there...the hot items seem to be the Fancy Pants As You Wish and Be Different collections, as well as some of the Studio Calico and MME's Now and Then....

These buttons: $1.00!!!!

This paper: $0.22!!!!

These Chipboard Hearts: $1.00!!!

Take a little while and look around!  Lots of great stuff I tell ya...

************Layout to Share***********

I have been so busy with the holidays lately, and making non-scrappy Christmas gifts, that I haven't had time to sit down and scrap much!  So here is another page that I made for our 12 Days of Christmas challenges.  You still have until January 4th to upload you entries for TWELVE different prizes!

I made this page with some Elle's Studio Good Cheer and Crate Paper goodies.  I cut the large snowflake with my Cameo and backed it with paper.  Then I did some faux stitching around it with a pen.

Then, I just punched some snowflakes and added them with some other bits on the page.

I added a few touches of gold with the gold foil paper from Crate Paper and the glitter Thickers from American Crafts.

A Layout featuring Amy Tan Stitched

Happy Friday, My Scraps fans!  It's Missy here today.  Have you gotten to play with the Stitched collection from Amy Tan yet?  It is SO fun and SO pretty!  I love the mix of teals, yellows, reds mixed with grey and black.  And the patterns are gorgeous.

I created this layout for today's Friday Favorite challenge over on our boards.  I chose a layout from one of our members, Jenessa, to lift.  She used several strips of paper in the background, added in some watercolor and backed her title stickers onto cardstock and then cut it out.  I mimicked that as well as the coffee rings she added onto her page.  You can see her layout HERE.

I did add a bit of modeling paste to my background using an old stencil I've had for years.  It has journaling lines on it, but I use it for interest.  I used red, teal and grey watercolors and a few mists to create the messy background and then finished it off with Mister Huey's mist splatters in Passport.  I also added some black stitching over the paper strips.  Finally, I added in a few Crate Paper rub ons. I also used the corrugated paper from Fancy Pants again on this layout.  Have you tried it yet?  It gives amazing texture and it's easy to tear, paint and sew on.  Check it out in the store HERE.

I used a Tim Holtz stencil and distress ink to create these messy coffee rings over my paper layers.  I also used some acrylic paint to give that wood veneer a matching color.

I've been obsessed with adding texture to my pages for some time now...especially using thread.  It's fun and easy and I just love the way it looks.  I also added in some of the corrugated paper here.

The corrugated paper gives GREAT texture and interest!  And it's easy to stitch through and layers really easily.  I highly recommend it for any project.

I hope this inspires you to create something fun!  And when you're out of inspiration, browse our gallery and find a layout to lift.  I get lots of my inspiration from there, and I know you will, too.

Thanks for stopping by, and have a great weekend!

Snow.

Hello and good morning...

I have to say I became totally smitten with the Grossamer Blue Get Happy collection when I received it.. It had a great rustic feel, but not too "themey" for a winter line. The colors are fun and the patterns are just down right playful!!! I love it..
I scrapped  this photo of my little one in her first snow experience. We don't get snow here in CA, but I was so excited that it snowed when we visited my sister in Utah, I had to get a ton of photos of her in the snow!!!

I added a thickers title to the page and punched out some snowflakes and added them throughout the page:

I also fussy cut along the "quilted" pattern running through the center of the page, and added a bit of misting splats:

So make sure to check out the Get Happy line, it works wonderful for all those "warm" holiday photos you are out taking right now...

Thanks sooo much for stopping by and have a great day and an upcoming Merry Christmas!!!

Santa.... I KNOW HIM!!!!

On behalf of the design team and myself, I want to wish everyone a very very jolly holiday season!!!  I hope you get everything you asked for (even that Cameo....)!

I broke into my stash to create this page using Basic Grey 25th & Pine.  The title stickers are still available in the store for just $1.00!  This is one of my favorite Christmas lines!  We went to the mall for a quick trip and Santa was sitting on a bench talking to a shopper...the mall was pretty empty.  He came right over to the kids and started talking...it was so sweet!

I also used the FREE CUT FILE in the store for part of my title.  I used some of the Fancy Pants gold foil paper....it cuts so nicely!

**************Store News**************

It is time....the new CHA releases are already starting to come out!!!  I have seen a few sneaks by Basic Grey (Adrift and Prism, which I will be getting!) and I just ordered the new October Afternoon Saturday Mornings!

No update yet as to shipment date for Simple Stories Life Documented, but last I heard it was this week sometime.

Adding Corrugated Paper to your projects...

Hey, friends!  Missy here with you today.  My latest project focuses on some really neat corrugated paper from Fancy Pants.  I don't know if you've gotten your hands on any of it, but there are five different colors of this in the store HERE.  I love mixed media and altering paper with paint, inks and gelatos, so I chose to play with a white sheet.  The texture on this is just awesome.

For this project, I used some of the corrugated paper as a background element.  I love torn edges, so I tore a big strip off and just simply added watercolor to it.  It was easy to paint, easy to adhere and my sewing machine stitched through it really easily.  It's not super thick, so it's easily bent and manipulated.  Very versatile!

This layout was created for this week's Throwback Thursday challenge.  I challenged members to use a collection or papers at least two years old, use photos at least two years old and use a stencil at least two years old.  I used the My Girl line from American Crafts (2012), photos from 2011 and a stencil I've had a few years as well.  I used a small amount of gesso and my finger to create the white circles in the background and then went over them with gelatos.  Of all the utensils I have, my fingers tend to work the best :)

The corrugated paper is so great for texture and layering...I really enjoyed playing with it.  I also love die cuts and patterned papers.  And pie charts!  A great way to add lots of patterns to your page in small doses.

One more close up of the textures going on here.  I've been on a thread kick for so long, and I just love adding it to my projects.

You can check out the corrugated paper in the store HERE....I'll be featuring it in my upcoming projects as well.

Thanks for stopping by, and have a great weekend!

Tag It!

I picked up a few gifts for some people I work with and I wanted to make them a little more personal. Instead of just the typical tag that is attached to the gift bags I decided to make some of my own tags.  I dug into my My Scraps and More holiday kit and got to work.

This kit already came with a few pre-made tags but I altered them to make them more than just a basic tag.

Dream Big.

Hello and good morning...

Happy Tuesday!!!

Usually with the AC Amy Tangerine lines in the past, I have mainly made girl pages with the papers and embellies, but I have to say the Stitched line has a ton of versatile papers that can be used for boy or girl projects. I used alot of the blues, grays and whites on this layout of my son. He went on a 50 mile Scout hike this past summer with his troop and was gone a week. Talk about an accomplishment. I was VERY impressed and he LOVED every moment. I sent him with a camera, hoping he would come home with a decent amount of photos. He came home with a bit over 120 photos, so I was a happy momma...

I ended up stitching around the edge of the page to pull it all together several of the wording stickers from the collection:

I also decided to use a pop of yellow on the page, and added a Lawn Fawn wooden leaf wood shape on the layout.

And added a few pops of color with the enamels and Thickers for the title of the layout:

Just in case you haven't checked out the Amy Tangerine Stitched line, I would... it's pretty amazing!!!

Thanks sooo much for stopping by today and have a great day!!!

Naughty or Nice?

I love love the new Fancy Pants Oh Deer collection!  There are some awesome holiday colors and prints!  And I love that it goes with a WHITE background instead of an off white.  The Elle's Studio Good Cheer collection is another good collection that goes well with white.

Anyways, I had these photos of my daughter playing around with a Santa hat, and I thought the phrase "Naughty or Nice" was fitting!  I cut the title on my Cameo.  Those scalloped borders I fussy cut from a piece of the Fancy Pants papers...

Then I just scattered some bits from the Oh Deer Ephemera pack diagonally across the page.  Easy Peasy.

Fall Favorites

Hey there!  Missy here.  Today I'm playing catch up and sharing a layout I did a few weeks ago for a Word Up Wednesday challenge over on our forums.  The challenge was to use the word "Favorites" on your layout.  I think any scrapbooker would find this really easy, since most of us scrap our favorite things all the time :)

These are photos from a few years ago.  They were intimidating to me for a long time because of the unique orange color.  I know there are certain colors that are just plain hard to scrap, and for me, this shade of orange is one of them.  But I made it work.  I decided to incorporate lots of blue into it to offset all the orange.  I used some older My Mind's Eye Cut & Paste for this, and even though none of the orange goodies I used match perfectly with her shirt, I think it all flows nicely together.  You can find newer MME products in the store HERE

I love this blue ombre background.  I jazzed it up a bit by adding some modeling paste through a chevron stencil and then adding bit of blue gelato.  I did some stitching with white thread through the die cut hearts (from The Cut Shoppe) and added some orange gelato below the photos.  I just smudged it right over my thread.  I added in bits of chipboard, stickers and enamel dots here and there to finish it off.

I was so excited to try out the new Cameo sketch pens.  This was the first time I had tried them....and they're AWESOME!  You just use them in place of the blade, and they draw out your shape.  I hand cut it out afterwards and used a few blue watercolor pencils to shade it.  (You can see how I did this on another layout if you check out my previous post....I used the red pen for that one).  I stitched right through this chipboard flower.  If you machine stitch through chipboard shapes, just go slow and it will work fine.

I cut these adorable pie chart hearts for a previous project that I didn't wind up using, so I made them work for this layout.  I stitched over all the lines...I love this effect.  I also tied some floss around the cute little chipboard mason jars.

One more close up here of the left side....aren't those enamel dots just adorable?  Love the colors.

I hope this has inspired you in some way.  If you need more inspiration or just want to play along for prizes in challenges, come join us in the My Scraps forum!  Challenges every day, prizes each month, and lots of other fun things always going on!  The new team starts up in January, and I'm thrilled to be staying on.  I love the girls there....it's really like a family :)

Thanks for stopping by, and have a great day!

Missy :)
