It was (is?) a good day!

Hi there everyone!  Welcome to another Monday!

Here's a quick page I made using the Cocoa Vanilla Made of Awesome collection.  This is for a bonus challenge today on the My Scraps & More Challenges and Contests FB page.

I started this page by doing my journaling FIRST on the page.  I typed it up in a Word document (along with my title, too), and then printed it on my large format printer.

I just added my photo, some bits and pieces from the collection, and some stitching in a grid.  Easy-peasy....

Birds of a feather with October Afternooon

This layout was created for this weeks Throwback Thursday on the forum. I love being able to challenge myself to use up older product, and always mix some new product in too for a fun mix!
I started my page with a mix of older papers in my stash. I wanted to go with a darker base to make my cutfile I cut from white cardstock really stand out. I wanted to play with my photos by creating a stack of three identical photos, mating the smallest one on the top layer for a fun look. I used a chipboard frame from a Heidi Swap pack in a floral print for a sweet look.

I used a great lined paper for my cut title, much like this super fun holiday paper in the store! Adding just enough detail, I sprinkled some mint green sequins around my title from the Maggie Holmes confetti sequins pack.
I chose to use some teal mini alphas from October Afternoon for my journaling spots, which also happened to be this weeks challenge; to use up those mini alphas.  I hope this inspires you to play with some older product. We would love to have you join us on the forum for this and many more challenges!!

10 Random Facts

Hello and welcome to the weekend! Jennifer here to share a layout I created for Got Talent Challenge #13!  For this challenge I asked participants to make a list! In honor of my daughter turning 12 this past week, I jotted down ten random facts about her.   I used Simple Stories' I Am collection which is always a favorite and can be used for so many themes!

I used some black foam American Craft Thickers for my title! They go so well with this line! I also added a cute heart arrow from the I Am Wood Veneer Shapes.

I used my typewriter to create my  list! You can also see the self-adhesive Bradz which I love!

I Am also has adorable Chipboard Frames...I included two of the smaller frames on my page!

I am a big fan of banners and I love this gold accent banner from the 6x12 Chipboard Sheet.

Showing more of the Bradz as well as Chipboard Accents from I AM!

Life is Good

Happy Friday, everyone!  Missy here.  Today I'm sharing a layout made using Sketch #112 over on the My Scraps Sketch Blog.  The amazingly talented Gina Lideros designed it, and I had an absolute blast designing with it!  Check it out and you can get the free cut file to help you create this if you have a die cutting machine.

I used the beautiful Pink Paislee Citrus Bliss line and a fun photo of me enjoying a fruity beverage in Las Vegas :)  I backed each hexagon with a different patterned paper and then did a bit of gelato work on top of that.  I added splatters of ink in a few colors and did some gold machine stitching around each hexagon.  I really love how it all turned out!

Aren't these colors just yummy?!  I love these fun puffy stickers.  I had to use them for my title.  I love how the light aqua looks against the orange, and that lemon yellow is so pretty!

This collection has some really fun chipboard and die cut pieces.  I couldn't wait to use this picture with these goodies...I need to drink more fruity beverages just so I can scrap them with this collection...haha :D

I couldn't resist using this adorable flamingo, and I had to add a pop of orange with the thread.  I really love how the gold stitching turned out.  It took a while to go around every shape, but it was worth it, I think.

You can check out my process video of this layout if you're interested in seeing how it all came together.  I hope you enjoy and get some inspiration!

Thanks so much for stopping by today!  Be sure to join us for the Sketch challenge!

Have a great day!

It's a Perfect Day

Hi there!  Lisa here today to share I layout I created using a mash up of October Afternoon Summertime and Simple Stories Summer Vibes.  These two lines are just so much fun together...the aquas and yellows mixed with the grid design found in both lines just makes it work!

FullSizeRender (3)-003

And my new favorite product....Summer Vibes Enamel Dots!  They are so cute and add a little splash of color without getting messy! (Because some days it's just not okay to walk around with mist and paint colored fingers!  Am I right??!)
Hope you all are enjoying the last bits of's time to use up those summer lines you've been hoarding!  Be sure to share with us over in the Flickr Group!

Today Was...

Hey there!
Lisa here today to share a layout I created using sketch #112 from the My Scraps & More Sketch Blog along with JilliBean Soup Summer Red Raspberry and American Crafts and Studio Calico wood veneer.

I used the 6x6 paper pad to back the cut file and colored the wood veneer with Gelatos:
I added some watercolors, stickers and thread. The hexagon journaling spot is one of the hexagons cut from the cut file. I just added some lines and inked around the edges:

This line was perfect for this photo of my son picking strawberries!

Thanks for stopping by and sharing your day with us!

Long Summer Walks.

Hello and good morning...

Happy Tuesday!!!

Today I am sharing a summer page with you, using non summery papers and colors. I used the Basic Grey Barista collection. Today the challenge up in the forum is all about the Trigger Tuesday word for the month which is "Summertime". My challenge is to scrap something you do in the summer and use non summery papers for your layout.
I am just n love with this collection, and feel like it can be used for pretty much almost any occasion since it has such neutral colors in the line.

I added a few of the Evalicious Life's Sweet Snip Snip Labels, perfect for journaling on:

And then decided to add some pops of red through the page for just a bit of color, and used some of the Evalicious wood pieces too:

So scrap those summer photos and feel free to scrap them in a non themed summer collection.. Make sure to play along with link up in the forum.

Thanks sooo much for stopping by and have a great day!!!!

Have backpack, will travel with Crate Paper

Happy Sunday sweet scrappy friends! Today I am sharing a super fun layout created for this weeks sketch over at the SKETCH BLOG. Using the sketch and cutfile created by this months guest sketch artist Gina Lideros, I created this layout in celebration of the new school year which has started for many across the united states.

I knew right away that I wanted to use this voyage paper by Crate Paper's  journey collection. I wanted to play on the aspect on travel, without creating an actual vacation or travel subject layout. I see Kindergarten as one big journey for new kids, and thought it quite fitting. I wanted to use the paper, which is dark, and chose to balance it with a lot of lighter elements, including the B side of this paper.

Using basic Kraft cardstock also helped to lighten up the page. I kept to the sketch with my journaling and photo placement, using some October Afternoon mini market alphas in an aqua tone. Adding an extra strip along the cutfile, decorated with lots of embellishments helped to both dress up and lighten the page by choosing lighter elements. I also added another photo for emphasis on my subject.
I just love that "oh the places youll go" tab from the Crate Paper die  cut package. I also added some awesome triangles cut from the Crate Paper Poolside specialty paper which I fussy cut to add.
I hope I inspired you to not be afraid of darker patterned paper and get you excited for the new school year!!

School Rules

Hello! Happy Saturday!  It's Jennifer and I'm sharing a layout I created with
Echo Park's Teacher's Pet collection from the My Scraps and More Shop!  This paper collection includes fun prints and stickers perfect for your first day photos!  I made this page as a challenge for a Monday Mix Up on the MSAM forums! If you haven't joined our daily challenges yet, please check them out!

I used black cardstock and a cute cut file from The Cut Shoppe for my tile!

I also added in the cute globe sticker from the Teacher's Pet 12x12 Elements Stickers as well as letter stickers from Simple Stories and October Afternoon.  The ledger print on the B side of Rulers was perfect for my journaling!

I used the B side of the Backpacks paper with Rulers and tied it together with the cute black cursive border strip from the Elements Stickers.

I am a big fan of layering and you can see the many fun prints of Teacher's Pet!

Thank you for stopping by today!  Check out this collection plus much more NEW lines!  Have a great day!

Behind the Curtain

Hey friends!  Missy back with you today.  I'm sharing the layout I created for last week's Throwback Thursday challenge.  The challenge was to use papers and embellishments at least two years old and to use something really big on the layout as well as something really small.

I used the Fancy Pants Be Loved line from 2013.  I am loving the trend of hand drawing letters onto patterned paper and then cutting them out.  I roughly drew the letters of my daughter's name in five different papers and then went over most of the background with white gesso.  I added some gelatos in teal and pink and then added some gold Color Shine splatters.  Next, I machine stitched over each letter with different colored thread.

These soft colors are just gorgeous together...and the gold really accents it all.  I added gold stitching in various places, and I also added gold Color Shine to three of the smaller fussy cut hearts.  I pulled some word and phrase stickers from my stash to add around the page.

My "something small" was the tiny title.  I used the alpha stickers from the collection.  I also added some tissue paper behind the photos as well as some tangled thread.

I fussy cut these chevron arrows from one of the 12x12 patterned papers and then stitched through them.  I brought in some grey and white striped washi tape from my stash to add a bit of interest to the sides of the photos.

Here's another look at the fussy cutting and beautiful gold stitching.  I love mixing up the straight and zig zag stitching.

The last thing I added to the layout was flair.  I gave them each a little gold next to sit in.  I love doing this to add texture, interest and a pop of color.

You can check out my process video if you'd like to see how I put this page together from start to finish.  I hope you enjoy!

Thanks so much for stopping by!  Have a great day!

Custom Doilies with Heidi Swapp Color Shine

Hi there, Lisa S here today to share a quick little technique to get you customizing your doilies to match any line of paper.

I love to use Doilies and have a bunch of different sizes and styles in my stash, but the thing is, they are all white.  Sometimes, it is fun to customize the doilies so that you match your paper line as I did for this quick card made from the Fancy Pants True Friend Collection and the Mint Green and Tropical Teal Mists by Heidi Swapp.  Here is where you can find all the colors of Heidi Swapp Color Shine. There are colors to match any line of paper!

To customize my Doilies, I have found it is best to not spray the Mist directly on the doily as it soaks up a ton of it and it can tear the doily just even dabbing it off.  To reduce waste and get a more interesting look, I like to spray the mists onto plastic packaging and dab the doily in it...

A quick hit with my heat gun sets it and drys it nicely and there you have a custom doily for any project!  Thanks for stopping by today!

So Rad!

Hey scrappy friends! Happy hump day!
Lisa here today.
I am sharing a layout I created for sketch #111 at My Scraps & More Sketches.
I used the new Simple Stories So Rad for this layout of my son standing by his new deer stand:

I used a cut file from the Silhouette store, added watercolor and backed it with papers from the 6x6 paper pad. The circles scattered around the outside were the negative circles cut from the file. I added watercolor to these as well and then added some faux stitching with a brown marker.
The deer head is from Fancy Pants Office Suite. The black & white strip is also from the 6x6 pad and I just added some stitching. Love the banner shapes those are from the So Rad Fundamentals Cardstock Sticker:

These are just some of the alphas on the So Rad Expressions Cardstock Stickers and those word stickers are also it:
I love the chipboard frames in this collection!
I added some spatters and that cute squirrel is from an older camping collection I have:

Here is the fun sketch:

Thanks for sharing your day with us!
