Dear sweet child of mine with American Crafts

I am all about all things girly this month, since we are set to introduce baby girl #4 into the family any day now. I wanted to create a sweet page for my recent sonogram photo that was great for a baby photo without feeling too babyish. I started by creating strips of crepe paper folded in accordion style to my base paper as my background.
Once these were glued down, I focused on my photo by mating multiple papers and a white doily from my stash. Using some fun embellishments including these acrylic shapes by AC , maggie holmes sequins ,  and some simple pink thread, I created a playful strip on either side of my photo for more subtle detail.
I wanted to mix up my alphas for a fun look, using both a Heidi Swapp glittered alpha and a puffy gold alpha by Studio Calico.
I love how the soft pallet and subtle embellishments created just the right sweetness for my baby girl page!!

Capture This Moment

Hello friends! Jennifer here to share a layout I created this week for a weekday challenge! I just received the new Basic Grey's Typeset Collection Kit in the mail from the MSAM shop and couldn't wait to create with it!  Typeset doesn't disappoint for Basic Grey fans as the prints and colors capture their traditional designs!

My title is done with white yardstick and a cut file from the Silhouette shop! This cute file is designed by Simple Stories (#60521).

The Typeset Metal Flair are absolutely adorable and perfect to accent your page!

You receive two cardstock sticker sheets in the collection pack including cute tags and buttons!  Here, I layered a few stickers as well as added another flair and enamel dots!

Showing a tag from the sticker sheet that I layered over a doily. I also added a gold paper clip to accent.

I added more of the stickers around my journaling as well as added paint splatters.

Thanks for stopping by today! Be sure to check out the Black Friday sale going on now at the MSAM shop! Have a great day!

Wild Thing, You Know I Love You + BLACK FRIDAY SALE!

Happy Friday, scrappy friends!  Missy here again. Be sure to check out the AWESOME Black Friday SALE going on NOW in the My Scraps Store!!  40% OFF EVERYTHING!!

While I'm here, I wanted to share one of the layouts I created for our Pinspirational Crop earlier this month.  I chose this gorgeous Home Decor pin for one of my challenges.  I just love these pillows, and I was inspired by a few of them to create a layout:  the zebra, the gold chevrons and those wonky circles.

I used the Maggie Holmes Shine collection from Crate Paper for this.  I started off by punching several circles from the geometric patterned paper.  I noticed that the design was perfect for recreating those circles in the pillow.  I used a big chevron stencil and some metallic gold paint to create some faint chevrons on the background.  I used my small foam ink blending tool to smudge the paint.  Finally, this collection has several little zebras in it, so I used a sticker and I fussy cut one from paper to add in to my "wild child" layout :)

I love using the foam blending tool because you can really add super thin layers of paint without it being too think and gloopy.  I love the light touch of gold here.  I also added in some gelatos for a touch of blue behind the gold.

I love combining alphas to create my titles.  And since I was using zebras, and my photo is of my daughter being her usual WILD self, this had to be my title :)   I've had those gold glitter Thickers for a while, and I paired them up with the large geometric Thickers from this collection, an acrylic die cut and gold puffy alphas.

I did add gold machine stitching to all the circles for an extra detail and texture, and this cute zebra looked adorable standing on top of one of the circles.

One more close up here of the photo area...lots of tangled thread, another zebra and gorgeous colors.

Thanks so much for stopping by today, and don't forget to check out that awesome sale!

Have a GREAT weekend!

Trigger Tuesday

Hey!
Lisa here to share the layout I created for the Tuesday Trigger challenge today over on the My Scraps & More forum. My challenge is to use the word "Thankful" on your page.
I used Photoplay Autumn Day line for this layout of my kids, hubby and myself:

Here are some close ups:

I added some watercolor to my background along with some enamel dots. I also added some pennants and stickers.

I used a card for my title and added some other alphas to finish it off.

I added some stitching and more stickers popped up with foam tape.

This is such a fun fall line, but as you can see, I used it for a summer family photo.

Sushi Time.

Hello and good morning...

Happy Tuesday!!!!

One thing that we all love in our house is.... sushi!!! Even our lil one, she LOVES it and can't get enough of it.. She even will request it from time to time, and that makes me very happy. We went out to sushi lunch and I just get a kick out of her eating her sushi, I always think it's super cute.

I honestly worked with minimal paper on this page, and left a decent amount of open space on it. Focusing more on the gesso work that I did with a mask, and added some light misting on the page. I added three randomly placed triangles and then stitched over them:

And just a small handful of stickers from the Maggie Holmes Shine collection from Crate on the layout:

So break out those paints, gesso, and misting.. get messy on the page... I always love the feeling after I do.

Thanks sooo much for stopping by and have a great day!!!!

Darling

Hello friends and happy weekend!  Jennifer here to share a layout I created for one of the daily challenges this past week! I used Maggie Holmes' Shine collection which is one of my favorites so far!  I love the variety of colors as well as fun embellishments!

I chose one of the Gold Glitter Word Thickers as my title

Another fun embellishment from Shine are the Wood Veneer Phrases and Shapes! I used the large diamond to accent my journaling! I also added two of the die cut flowers from the Ephemera pack!

Shine also has a 12x12 Chipboard Accent Sheet, as well as coordinating stickers! I layered a tag along with pennant stickers and a gold glitter heart pennant under my photo.
Showing more of the Ephemera and Chipboard pieces. You can also spy some of the specialty Gold  Heart Clear Acetate paper under my picture!
I added some paint splatters using Heidi Swapp Color Shine as well as enamel dots from my stash.
Thanks for reading today....now stop by the MSAM shop to see this and many more new collections! Have a great day!

Show Me Your Teeth

Happy Friday, friends!  Missy here again :)  Today I'm sharing a layout I created for last week's Pinspirational Crop over on our boards.  One of the challenges I issued for the crop was based on this Abstract Art pin.  I love the idea of getting messy and then creating something neat and organized out of it.

I created this layout based on the messy punched circle idea.  I used the Basic Grey B-Side collection for this, and I was inspired by the beautiful bright colors in it.  I took a sheet of white cardstock and used some of my ink sprays to create a messy design.  I used a stencil and acrylic block as well as just spraying and splattering the ink down.  Then I took a circle punch and created a lot of circles from my messy background.  I arranged them on another sheet of cardstock, adhered them and then did some stitching.

I did layer a few patterned papers behind my photo as well as add a bit of washi tape.  I also used some Jillibean Soup stamps to create more circle embellishments.

Aren't these colors gorgeous!:  I love how the black pops against them.  I used several die cuts and stickers from the B-Side collection here as well as another JS stamp.

I combined some of the BG small alphas with a Cameo cut for my title.  I added one of my favorite things, too....tangled thread :)

You can check out how I created this layout from start to finish if you're interested.  I hope you are inspired by it as well as the pin!

Thanks for stopping by, and have a great weekend!

Reno or Bust

Hi there, Lisa here today with one of my favorite styles of layouts...the grid.  I created this for the Word Up Wednesday challenge, which is to journal around the edges of your layout.

I mashed up Crate Paper's last two travel lines (Open Book and Journey) for this layout, but honestly, one of my favorite parts is the QR code.  I  know I've talked about them before, but it's a great way to get video on your layouts.  There are many apps to create these with your youtube videos.  I just upload the videos off my phone (which means then I can delete them, too, saving lots of space on my phone) and then create the QR code and print it out.  You can scan it and see my quick little video of how excited I was to be in a snow storm in May!  LOL

Hope you enjoy!  Have a great day!

Here & Now

Hey there!
Happy Wednesday! Hope you are having a great week so far!
Lisa here to share a layout I created for our Pinspirational Crop over at the My Scraps & More forum.
I used Pink Paislee Memorandum for this page of my daughter all dressed up for Homecoming:

I cut the circle using a cut file on my Cameo and painted it with watercolors. I then stitched it. I added some paint spatters to the background to give more color.

I cut the Here & Now from the teal file folder that is under my photo. This is a great way to get more for your money- cut out the unseen.

I love the gold frames in this collection! I added some of the washi tape, a few stickers and some thread.

I punched a butterfly out of one of the papers and added it.

This line is one of my favorites from Pink Paislee!

XO XO.

Hello and good morning...

Happy Tuesday!!!!
XO XO... every time I hear that I think of the Gossip Girl voice from the show saying it outloud.

I'm sharing another layout from the Pinspiration Crop that was going on in the forum. I choose a cool photo from the hair and beauty board- a photo of some super cute painted nails. I love being able to pull inspiration from photos, from whatever area of art they may be from.

This photo is of my lil one several years ago while we were on a family vacation before school started. Sometimes I just get the urge to pull out the older photos and scrap them. I love looking back and seeing how much the kids have grown.

I used Crate's Maggie Holmes Shine collection. Every now and again, I find a line that I can use over and over again.. yup, this is totally one of them forsure. I pulled alot of my older alphas, and used five different fonts for the title work on the page:

And of course added some misting on the layout too a few enamels and several stickers from the collection:

So pull out some old alphas and use them on the page, repeat the title several times and make it stand out. Grab inspiration from anywhere and everything... Let your creative mind run free...

Thanks sooo much for stopping by and have a great day!!!

I Run

I hope you've been following our Pinspirational Crop over at the forums!  One of my themes was fitness/health so I did a page why I run!  I guess I'm a wannabe runner...I'm not fast by any means but I love to get outside and put in a few miles.   Pink Paislee's Memorandum from the My Scraps and More Shop has the perfect bright colors and prints!

I used the peacock glitter American Craft Thickers from Pink Paislee's Cedar Lane collection as well as my typewriter for my title. I also added some splashes of Heidi Swapp Color Shine and gold epoxy  shapes from Memorandum.

Love this phrase included in the Memorandum Gold Puffy Stickers!  I added a wood veneer starburst from my collection as well as stamped a cute sentiment under my photo.

I cut different sized strips of patterned paper and layered it in a "backward L" shape. I then stitched through as well as added label stickers and flair from my stash.

Thanks for stopping by today!  Be sure to check out more Pinspiration on the forums!  We'd love to see your work!  Have a great day!

Mama in the Middle

Happy Friday, friends!  Missy here again.  Today I'm sharing a layout I created for a Throwback Thursday Challenge over on the My Scraps & More boards last week.  The challenge was to use up some of your rub-ons stash.  I have been hoarding a few sheets of Crate Paper rub-ons, so I decided to use them.  Most of these are from the Kiss Kiss collection.

I used papers and embellishments from the Heidi Swapp September Skies collection, and I did a bit of mixed media work on the background.  I love that the rub-ons resist all the inks, sprays, gelatos and paints, so you really can't cover them up.

I did add white gesso to my background after adhering the patterned paper squares.  I then added the rub-ons and then came over everything with gelatos.  I used my water brush to smoosh all the color around instead of a paint brush.  I decided to name this "Mama in the Middle" since my mom is always in between my sister and me when we take selfies...haha :D  I combined a Cameo die cut with some Elle's Studio alpha stamps and my own handwriting.  The flair button is from my stash, and the "love us" speech bubble is from Evalicious.

I love these cute geometric heart rub-ons!  Although they are all from a Valentine's collection, they work perfectly for anything, I think.  I also added in some machine stitching.

It took me a while to figure out how I wanted to arrange my punched squares.  I finally decided on a vertical design.  I worked around that area once I stitched everything down.  These embellishments are from Heidi Swapp.

Here's one more look at the gelato work and layers.  I love using tissue paper under my photos :)

Here's a look at my process video for this layout if you're interested in seeing how this came together.  I hope you enjoy it!

Thanks so much for stopping by, and have a great day!
